Background Check Delays
by Real Estate - Monday, May 3, 2010, 11:17 AM
The FBI is now taking about 13 weeks on returning background checks/reports. The Kentucky Real Estate Commission (KREC) is now requiring those who are able to use the alternate optional affidavit process to do so if they are endanger of going past their 60 day test results deadline. With Kentucky residents, the "Fast Track AOC" report can be obtained in just a few days by using the AOC Fast Check online process and the affidavit and principle broker authorization forms are easily completed. (See link below) The KREC is recommending if you have passed the license exam and have not received your FBI background check back by day 50, you should start the optional process using FastTrack.

Note: You don't have to wait for the FBI you can use the alternate process anytime you wish.

P.S. There is also a special affidavit process if your prints come back as unreadable by the FBI. You can contact the real estate commission for further instructions.
