Exam SheetProctor is not a word most people use everyday so let's start by defining exactly what is a proctored exam. Do you remember in your school the testing they did once or twice a year? When someone other than your teacher would make sure you didn't cheat on an exam? Remember those dreaded circles you had to fill in exactly with the very popular number 2 pencil? A proctored exam is simply a final exam monitored by a third party (proctor) to make sure the person taking the exam is who they say they are and that the test taker doesn't receive any outside help.

We know what you're thinking. What does this have to do with an online real estate class? Per Kentucky Real Estate Commission guidelines, a student who takes an online class that counts as 48 hours or more credit (Includes the 96 hour pre-license course) must take a final proctored exam, but there's no need to worry. We have over 20 locations throughout the state and even if you're in another state/country we can typically find a librarian who would meet the qualifications to administer your exam. If you are taking regular continuing education (3 hour, 6 hour course) a proctored exam is not required because you'll take the final exam online as part of your normal coursework. It's only for courses that count as 48+ hours of credit.

We provide contact information/locations of all available proctors within each course that requires the proctored exam, but very seldom would a student have to drive over 30 minutes to an exam site. If you have any questions, please give us a call or send an email. Just so you know, the proctor can't be your family member, friend, or your broker as we get asked that a lot. (We don't get to make the rules) They have to be independent which is why we have agreements with multiple libraries throughout the state.

FYI- Unlike most online schools, we pay any fees required by the proctor so there's no additional fees due by you for the proctored exam.

P.S. This proctored exam is not the same thing as a license exam. The proctored exam just finishes up the course from us, but you'd still need to take the licensing exam from PSI Exams to get your real estate license in Kentucky.
