We sometimes get asked by students how much time they've spent in the course or said another way "how much time do I have left". It's not really about the time it's about the material which is why we don't provide a running total of the time. We found when we did disclose a students time logged in everyone focused too much on the time at the expense of learning what they needed to learn.

Time LaptopHere's an example. In the 96 hour pre-license course there are six (6) sections plus the final exam. It might seem normal to assume that when you finished section three (3) that you'd have approximately 48 hours left, (96 divided by 2) but there's a catch. If you had a working knowledge/background on some of the material in the first few sections it stands to reason you might have gone thru that material quicker than someone who had no background in those issues. The reverse might be true as well. It might take you longer for sections four, five, and six because this might be the first time you'd been exposed to some of those concepts. The bottom line is that in 99% of the cases, the time works itself out. We've already mentioned for credit courses, you have to complete everything regardless of the time it takes so the 96 hour course might take you 90 hours to complete or it might take 100 hours.

There is a minimum set by our course approval, but very rarely can anyone finish in less than the minimum time. If that does occur, we'll contact you and let you know how to proceed because we are tracking time, we're just doing it in the background. If you'll focus on the material, we'll take care of everything else.
